Why Sparks?

We ignite the sparks of Jewish identity in your children, so that those sparks can illuminate a joyful Jewish path for them as they grow.

Jewish tradition teaches that each of us has a divine spark within, as we were created b’tzelem Elohim, in God’s image; our goal is to help your children find their divine spark.

In Jewish mysticism, legend has it that holy sparks were scattered and lost at Creation; by performing mitzvot (Jewish responsibilities and good deeds) in our school and our community,
we reclaim those holy sparks and help repair the world (tikkun olam). -
In the Tanakh (Hebrew Bible), the prophet Isaiah teaches a vision of the Jewish people as an "or l'goyim," a "light unto the nations." We help inspire our students to be a light in the world.
