Hebrew Program for 3rd to 6th Graders
Schedule:
Wednesdays from 3:30pm-5:00pm
In third grade, students learn how to decode Hebrew. This includes identifying Hebrew letters and vowels and combining them to pronounce longer words and phrases.
- From 4:30pm-5pm, both Hebrew sessions come together for Tefilah with Rabbi Mangold, Rabbi Peiser and/or Aaron Katz, where they experience a weekday service and practice the prayers they learn in class.
- Fourth through Sixth grade is a three year cycle that includes foundational prayers, the order of the service, choreography and why we pray. Students are encouraged to practice at home with their parents through interactive games and other activities.
4th-6th graders have the option to enroll in either early session or late session. (We might consolidate sessions based on numbers).
Early Session: 3:30pm-5pm
Late Session: 4:30pm-6pm
Students are welcome to come to the Temple to hang out and snack before school from 3pm-3:30pm. Aaron Katz will introduce multiple ways students can say/sing each prayer.
