Neighborhoods

At Temple Emanu-El, there’s always a way to get involved, socialize, learn, and make a difference. Explore our many social groups or Neighborhoods. You can check off which groups you may be interested in becoming involved with below. For more information, you can also contact our Programming Coordinator, Shelby at Shelby@emanu-el.org.

Brotherhood – Get ready for a “Not your Average” Brotherhood! Be in touch with our new Brotherhood Chair, Rob Yomtov, at robert.yomtov@gmail.com if you would like to be involved. Also, join our Facebook Brotherhood page! Click here to join.

Families with Children – Join us for exciting programs, events and field trips. Kids and families experience a positive sense of Jewish identity while sharing special time together.

Jewish Learning – Adult members enjoy classes, films, discussion groups, and speakers.

Outdoors and Active – This dynamic neighborhood enjoys adventures on land and water. Future outings such as hiking, biking, kayaking and stand-up paddleboarding (SUP) are being planned. These active excursions will enable physical fitness as well as an excellent opportunity to get to know one another.

Tikkun Olam – Repairing the world, Tikkun Olam, is a core Jewish value. Make a difference through social action, with our year-round activities including the High Holyday Food Drive, Mitzvah Day and monthly trips to volunteer at local soup kitchens.

Caring Community – Support community members in need by providing meals, transportation, errands, phone calls, and home or hospital visits. The Temple also offers support for people with aging loved ones.

Jewish Music – Love to sing or play instruments? Join Jon Nelson each month for a relaxed evening of music.

LGBTQIA Neighborhood– Join this neighborhood to engage in empowering discussions on LGBTQIA issues and to meet peers and allies and be together Jewishly.

Holidays Together – Celebrate Shabbat and other Jewish holidays, such as Rosh Hashanah and Passover, with fellow Temple members, and make new friends in the community.

Senior Connection –  Seniors, age 70+, share fellowship in a fun, caring, and supportive atmosphere.

Sisterhood – This active group of women coordinates monthly cooking for our community, social and educational field trips, dinners, breakfasts and so much more! Click here to see our upcoming events and learn more.
