Rabbi Samantha Safran
Associate Rabbi for Youth Learning and Family Engagement
Rabbi Samantha Safran holds a Master of Arts in Hebrew Letters as well as her rabbinical title from the Reconstructionist Rabbinical College in Philadelphia. Originally from Great Neck, New York, she studied classics and philosophy at Colgate University and worked in film preservation before migrating to the Jewish professional world, and still maintains a love of languages and the arts.
Rabbi Samantha is excited to come to Emanu-El after four years at the Epstein Hillel School, where she served as Director of Jewish Living & Learning. Prior to EHS, she spent nine years at the Evelyn Rubenstein JCC of Houston as Director of the Center for Jewish Living & Learning, where she oversaw Jewish education and programming for all ages.
In her spare time she enjoys listening to live music, reading the New Yorker magazine, watching classic movies, and spending time outdoors. Rabbi Samantha lives in Marblehead with her husband Sacha and their two children, Naya and Ezra.
