Jill Simmons-Wetmore Bio
Jill Simmons Wetmore has been an integral part of Temple Emanu-El since 2012, currently serving as a religious school teacher and the logistics coordinator for the religious school. In this role, she manages all aspects of family education programming and events. Additionally, Jill is the SMARTY (Swampscott/Marblehead Area Reform Temple Youth) youth director, where she leads students on recreational field trips and social justice projects.
Jill played a pivotal role as the chairperson for “Taste of the North Shore,” Temple Emanu-El’s largest fundraiser in 2024. Before joining Temple Emanu-El, she taught at North Shore Hebrew School and led the Junior Congregation at Temple Sinai. She also served as the USY director in Swampscott/Marblehead for many years.
Jill and her family ran Camp Menorah in Essex, a day camp for children ages 3-16 from 22 cities and towns. She is an alumna of Cohen Hillel Academy in Marblehead, Swampscott High School, and Salem State College. Jill enjoys spending time with her family, including her sons Mason and Andrew, and loves boating, swimming, and all the summer recreation the North Shore offers. Jill travels all over New England to attend concerts with her sons.
Jill also enjoys crafting hand designed seashell trinket holders, which she sells at Coastal Collective in Swampscott under her brand, Jilly Sells Seashells.
