This is an opportunity for students in 5th, 6th, and 7th grade and their families to attend a Shabbat service geared for learners! As we worship together, Rabbi Mangold will explain the meaning of the prayers and reflect on the choreography of the B Mitzvah service. Students will hear the Torah chanted and see firsthand what it will be like at their upcoming B Mitzvah celebration. Following the service, families will enjoy lunch while Rabbi Mangold explains the process and logistics of becoming B Mitzvah here at Temple Emanu-El. Shelby Chapper-Pierce will be there as well to discuss event planning. During this time, students will create an art project related to their B Mitzvah, while parents speak more in depth with Rabbi Mangold about supporting their children through this process.
